Default Dumb question 99999: how do you set up a charity auction?

    Hi all,

Was checking out the charity auctions yesterday and bid on a lovely pair of snowman earrings, (hope I win them, they'll go great with my Xmas sweater that has snowmen on it).

I was wondering how you set up a charity auction?

Best wishes for many sales to all,

OK, after more coffee I figured it out. Guess I'm not ready for the Darwin Awards just yet...

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Hi suesjools, so how is it done please? I am hoping one day to set a store up for the Charity I am in the process of establishing. (I will need a separate place where I could fundraise and keep it apart from my own private stuff). Thanks in advance.

as it stands at the moment you cant it would have to be done under your currant trading name and as one of your stores..... that said once your charity (with charity number etc etc) is up and running I would approach the boys at head office and ask them if you could set up a second account with a new trade name etc... it would cost you another seller+ fee but you would be able to charge that to your charity as a business expence.

Exactly the same way any other auction is set up. All eBid does is provide suitable categories.

Thank you everyone. Food for thought. Been offered an opportunity to "shelter" my Charity within a bigger one (legally protected & retaining financial control). Got a meeting 4pm today so disappearing for a while.

Thank you again. Will be back - probably with more questions to humbly ask.

Cheaver, good luck with your meeting and in setting up charity auctions. Am running mine in Charity-Cancer eBid category and in my jewelry store under Charity auctions, hope to get a few bids before all is said and done.

Best wishes for many sales to all,
