    Default google

Hi everybody, can I get some advice on what i need to do to get my items listed on google.
Some are and some are not. What is the most important thing google is looking for to list the items on the first page or up close to the first page? Thanks for any help. manna77 Louise

Your grammar on your titles are ummmmm....... bad. You use a lot of commas to fill spaces which you shouldn't do.

Here is an example of one of your titles:

    vtg.glassware pitcher,3 glasses,hand painted? 1940-60's

Someone trying to find glassware or a pitcher or glasses, will not find yours because, as far as the system is concerned, your title is one very long word.

You need to have spaces ie:

Vintage 1940-60's glassware pitcher and 3 glasses

The hand painted bit you can add to your description.

Here is another example of yours:

Lion King figures 4,Disney,Nip,K ellogg Co,bobbles head

Someone looking for Disney or bobbles won't find yours because your title is mostly joined up with commas, again the system won't be able to differentiate the words separately.

The title would look much better like this:

Set of 4 Lion King bobble head figurines Disney Nip Kellogg Co

    or something like that.

    Another example:

vtg. table crumb cleaner, kitchenware, old, metal. Japan

    could be

Vintage 1950"s metal table crumb cleaner

The rest you can add to your description

Just make sure you have spaces between words and no commas

    Hope this helps you.

I noticed some of your listings don't have anything in the description except your terms and conditions.

Add detailed descriptions and load up all the keywords that apply. I think this not only attracts Google's attention, it looks a lot friendler to potential buyers.

Also remember it can take a day or two before the Google spider finds your listings.

Hi Tias Treasures, yes you are right, so googles looks at the description also. I will fix that up to. I just took out the commas
and changed the titles on all my items. I hope that helps. I am putting pictures in the description sections too. Thanks for the
advice. I will take any help to make my items look better, the more the better. Thanks again manna77 Louise

I don't often get to say this but eBid's help pages actually have quite comprehensive information on making your listings acceptable by Google. See: http://uk.ebid.net/help_selling.php#47

Pay particular attention to the Editorial Guidelines at the end of the section.

Wow, that's come along. Well spotted. I was particularly interested in the "first 250 characters" rule. I shall be adding this guideline to my FAQ:

How many characters is 250? What does that look like? eBid’s instructions for getting Google visibility is to avoid putting anything in the first two-hundred and fifty characters that does not relate directly to your item. That’s exactly this much.

Yes, I think it is the only case in my KB where I refer the reader back to eBid help for more comprehensive information.
