Thread: Time to Apologize

  1. #1

    Default Time to Apologize

When eBid first starting sending out automatic reminders to buyers who hadn't left feedback, I was a very vocal opponent. I thought it would only antagonize them and that feedback was voluntary. I may have even used the word "spam".

I believe eBid then scaled back to one reminder after 30 days, which I grudgingly accepted. I know other auction sites do this (I get their reminders), so one and only one seemed OK.

In the past few days we've received feedback from several buyers who purchased items from us more than a month ago. All of it favorable. This was obviously triggered by eBid's reminder. And some of the members who bought their first item from us now have feedback from other eBidders, so they weren't antagonized.

I apologize. I was wrong. This was apparently a good decision by eBid.

Always in favor of reminders.. always. Those who cry about are still learning public online auctions... yes, even if you've been doing it for 10 Years. Feebay is not eBid... feebay thinking and attitudes should be left at the door here.

A lot of peeps aint computer literate . . . I have asked for feedback on a few sites and got it . . . Only problem is the feedback is an email and personal and invisible to my buying public.

Oh Well that's life I suppose!

Sales are lovely, getting paid is wonderful, feedback is nice. Our feedback rate has been very low, because we seem to make a lot of sales to new members, and it bothered me a bit. I feel much better now that our count is at a respectable number.

That is not necessarilly the case though Pink Panther, you could add it and a selection of other feedbacks to your "about me page". It may not be as noticable as an additional feedback point, but it can still help you.
