I do not believe that it is "human nature" to behave in the way that we see so many politicians doing. If there is such a thing as human nature (and I doubt it), this sort of behaviour would be contrary to it.

Samuel Pepys would disagree with you. On the 30th of March, 1668 he wrote

Can this lower people's opinions of politicians any more or have they already bottomed out?
Under the law they are not above the law!

If they got strung up though 'They would be above the ground'
    Albeit briefly!

My local MP has always believed the law does not apply to him. He is always parked on the yellow lines outside his office or in the doctors only parking space on the surgery opposite. The area is patrolled all the time by the Traffic Wardens but I have never seen him get a ticket.
My posts only state my own opinions, unless I've stolen them from someone else

Tony , if you see the warden and the car , ask him...no reasonable answer , take his number ( wardens ) and report the warden............papa

They would only claim the fine on expenses

.. STOP ALL EXPENSES .. so then if they want something , they pay for it..
I would also suggest , the Government ( any ) should pay for a block of flats and the mp's should stay in there , and they do not need another house...
    problem solved ??????..............Papa.
Not their "wages" but their "business expenses" are being questioned. That is second part of their salaries (just like in US or any business). But most places have rules about claiming business expenses, apparently these guys found a loophole and spent like drunken sailors (apology to all sailors).

In US these expenses are public record so we can check what our reps spent for travel, etc. but doesn't mean they don't waste it.
