Should not go to Gallery by default, that would change the original point of selecting this option.
Sellers who opted for Featured would have to pay fees if item changed to Gallery and sold.

It might be best to give the option of what it will change to when you first select Featured.

Reading the original question, No missing eBid hosted Images, just that they changed to free listing with no gallery picture after Feature finished after 60 days.

So Free or Gallery? Gallery will involve a FVF that was not present before.

I'm reluctant to make it an option as it is a rare occurence and too many options just confuse people,

How about if the listing just ends, so that the owner can repost using whatever method they prefer?

Here are 2 auctions..... that became FREE from Featured and are currently running as FREE ... these should become Gallery when Featured expired.
If a seller is going to pay Extra for Featured.. any seller would expect their auction/s to keep a Gallery picture always.

But that would not work with RUS and OFB listings. And you know how uppity some people get when you mention closing their RUS listings.

Sadly true! I get the impression that at least one poster is expecting to get free gallery pictures following a featured run. Perhaps giving away something for nothing would keep more people sweet.

Plus it is still an extra option which Gazza seems not keen on as a solution.

Kim's solution of closing after 60 days would work if you were disallowed from setting RUS or OFB on a Featured listing. Some, I am sure, would be unhappy with that idea as well.

True. Maybe an extra option at the bottom, where you choose Featured. Could be set for each auction as needed.
