Don't you know it's bad luck to kill a spider?

Besides, think of all the nasty things they get rid of.

I have a tiny vacuum made especially to pick them up (gently) into a tube, then I take it outside and shake them out. They're kind of cute when they land . . . stand frozen for a few seconds ("What the heck just happened?"), then they take off at a dead run.

This hair release is the spiders defence mechanism, it is very well documented and has been seen on tv many many times.

This just goes to show that some people should not own certain types of pets.
Same dopes who buy a terrier and can't figure out why the dog runs, chases, hunts and digs. Duh!! They treat it nice, why does it run away after rabbits?

And a ladybug too. I put them outside too because it is kinder ( Neater than scrapping them off the wall too).

I just let them wander onto my hand, and take them outside.

Got a couple I let stay indoors - they quite happy living in the little corners. Do more good than harm.

I used to be petrified of them - till I had a stall at the Portsmouth and Southsea show - they had an arachnid marquee. I took the plunge and let the guy put a mexican red kneed tarantula on my hand. It wandered all the up my arm onto my shoulder. Sweat was pouring out of me. Could feel it grip.

Since then - ive had no problems at all with them.

I don't mind spiders one bit, pity I can't say that about the wife she freaks even if one comes on the TV. Unfortunately this has in the past caused me some blushes.
Here's a short tale that should put a smile on your face during these cold wintery days.

Picture this in your mind... when we first moved into this house we were still decorating and hadn't put any curtains up, In our bedroom we had put up an old roller blind as a temporay measure to afford some privacy.

One night the wife spots a spider on the ceiling just above the roller blind, of course she freaks out and insists I kill it, now as is my want I always sleep naked, there I am bouncing up and down on the bed with a rolled up news paper swiping at the spider.. of course I missed and managed to hit the roller blind which immediately shot up leaving me bearing all in front of the window. The wife was laid there laughing like a demented hyena, and it was days before I dare venture outside.
