The brainy noodles at Microsoft have released a number of patches and updates in the past which allows you to use your older Xbox games with your new Xbox 360. Whilst these updates are FREEly available on the web, you'll notice that quite a few folks are trying to sell them to you on eBay. I don't think that is very fair, so here's how you can get the whole lot for next to nothing.
All the information you'll need to download and use the updates can be found via this link.
You can obtain the update by one of three methods:Option 3 may be the most likely, since the majority of people will already have their system connected and be playing online. If this is the case, then you probably already have the update automatically installed.
- Download it yourself, burn it to DVD and apply it. The download - if that is the route you choose - is around 13 meg, so broadband connections are the order of the day.
- Pay to have an official update DVD sent to you - but only once they actually start this long promised service.
- Connect your Xbox 360 to the phone line and use Xbox Live.
If you are wondering why you'd bother with all this, then take a look at the growing list of original Xbox games that you can now use with your newer console.
So there you go.
