    Default PayPal Help Please

I had an e-cheque payment made through Paypal on 6th Feb. Said thepayment wouldnt clear until approx 15th Feb, so havent sent the order to the customer. Just checked to see if the payment has now cleared and it says against status that its "cancelled" ~ went onto paypal help page and its a bit confusing as it seems to read that cancelled means the payment has been successful???!
anyone help on this please? I dont want to send off the goods if the customer has cancelled her e-cheque but at same time dont want to sit on the goods if the payment has gone thru ok.
    cheers x

    Hiya Linda

If its been cancelled then please do not send the goods.

I do not think the buyer can cancel them as once they send payment it's sent. I guess that her bank card could not be verified therefore Paypal have cancelled the transaction.

    Have Paypal emailed you yet??

I had quiet a few pending e-cheques in early December so go the hang of them!

Also, have you phoned PayPal? They are very helpful indeed. I would give them a call and find out what has happened, then contact your buyer.

    Hope this helps
    xx

cheers for that Mel. I think i have only ever had one e-cheque sent before, and know then that paypal didnt notify me once the payment had cleared, so thought i had best check to see if this one had, and was quite surprised to see cancelled by the status.
paypal havent replied to my email enquiry yet, maybe i should give them a phone call to see whats happened.
    thanks again Mel xx

I agree, it sounds like some sort of clearance issue, ie not enough funds etc. If its cancelled then its not gone into your account and the item should not be sent. Have you contacted the buyer and asked them whats happening from their end, chances are they will have heard something. Ive had a good few e.cheques through my account and the only problem was the varied time it can take to clear, and from what I remember Paypal did send e.mail to confirm the amount had cleared but I find for some reason my spam filter will eat paypal messages ;/ lol Paypal are pretty good with phone support so as said above give that a go too, but I would contact the buyer to see where things lie, and if there is no reply I think you will have your answer

Hi, the echeque hasn't cleard the senders bank. Email the buyer and tell her the payment has been refused and ask her to send a payment funded by her bank account or credit card and not an echeque. Those dam echeques are a sodding nuciance.
