    region 1 = usa

region 2 = uk and europe

    region 3 = asia(i think)

region 0 = should play on anything

depends on if your dvd player is multi region if so you dont need to be as fussy

region 9= Similar to region 0 but produced in Asia in English though!

If you want to convert your dvd player to multiregion, visit http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks where you can find instructions on how to convert for most players.
Most players have a secret menu which you can access via a special key combination on your remote.

I buy a lot of region 1 dvds from Canada, as they are cheaper than in the UK (even including postage) and most are released earlier than in the UK. Some UK produce stuff isn't even available over here, e.g. Dad's Army boxed set.

    Region 4 is Australia/New Zealand

    Here is a full list.

    Region Countries
    0 No Region Coding
1 United States of America, Canada
2 Europe, including France, Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Arabia, Japan and South Africa
3 Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Borneo and Indonesia
4 Australia and New Zealand, Mexico, the Caribbean, and South America
5 India, Africa, Russia and former USSR countries
    6 Peoples Republic of China
    7 Unused
    8 Airlines/Cruise Ships
9 Expansion (often used as region free)

Ones to avoid: Region 3 and Region 5. Often the picture quality is of poorer quality then regions 1,2 & 4. (Often dvds will be region 2 & 4).

Another to avoid are region free imports. Can be poor picture quality, cheap menus, no extras as they are bootleg.

My auctions, good prices, fair p&p.
