Picture? We could have a Completed items thread on here which would be an encouragement to get on with stuff - even links to online patterns.

Below is my today's (only just) completed item, what a "hoot" it was as I don't follow patterns, just shapes..... and this tea cosy was a bit demanding due to its unusual shape.

    materials:
    crochet hooks
    yarns
    fibre filling
    fancy button for beak
    darning needle

I have tons of beads, charms, findings. At this point in time, I'm not certain what I want to keep and what is excess, but do have charms that I know are excess that I should list.

If anyone is looking for jewellery making things, please add to the thread and someone might be able to help out.

When Captain Jewels made the decision to close down her eBid shops, I lost my favourite seller of shiny things here on eBid.

But, I'm in the same boat, in that I must not buy anything else until I use up and list more of my items. I also donated some of my creations to the hospital thrift shop, so I really hope that they can sell them.

I haven't made anything for a few days. I had appointments out.

The craft related thing that I did accomplish was to go through some plastic storage compartment boxes that I had purchased from the thrift shop. I wanted the boxes, but they were full of loom bands and the hooks and clips and little plastic loom things that go along with that children's craft. I couldn't bring myself to throw the bands out, so I sorted the bands by colour and put them into craft baggies. There were a bunch! Now the question is what to do with them. Back to the thrift shop and hope that the hospital gets more money for them, I think. For now, they are back in the craft room.

And the answer is: DESTROY THEM!

Google for 'loom bands environmental impact'.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. If you have children around, at least, as the Washington Post suggests, it's an opportunity to educate them.

Bundles of left over yarns - not ordinary yarns, those with a touch of "different" about them would be great. I would rather buy a bundle of left over interesting bits and pieces of yarns rather than balls and balls of everyday, buy it anywhere type of yarn.

Bits of left over trimmings would be useful too...... a bundle of different sorts would be really interesting instead of paying full price for a full reel of something when I only need less than a foot of it. The pearl trimming used below is flattened on one side and the total used was only 7 inches.

Here is yesterday's finished item made from the above bits and pieces..... the pair took very little to make since they are really quite small, to fit a 0-3 month old - so literally bits and pieces are more than sufficient.

    How's the scarf coming along?

I re-purpose some drops and and beads too, using new earwires and findings.
