How do I disable buyers making payments before I send them an invoice?

    You can't.

I see you have a notice about shipping price increases and that invoices are sent via PP (even though you have a shipping fee displayed).
A purchase notice is sent via eBid with a payment button, hence, buyers are able to pay immediately upon purchase.
You have 2 options re shipping costs - update your shipping costs or edit your listings stating shipping unknown (buyers will be forced to ask you for prices, which 95% don't like to do)

Hi. I'm new to this site and this doesn't have anything to do with your question but hopefully you can help. I want to buy this lens but the seller has only been on the site for two weeks and has over 140k items for sale no feedback or anything. they have been in contact with me but im very skeptical. what do you think.

Hi I am also new to this site. I used Ebay for 2 -3 yrs selling and buying ham radio equipment. I always used paypal as I understand they will protect your payments in case of a bad transaction.

How can i stop multi buyers from paying for each purchase separately? I had 2 buyers who have done this recently! I even told one of the buyers please wait i will send you an invoice!

I've had the same problem. I haven't found a solution. I have also asked buyers to either use MIC when they have finished or ask for an invoice. I think the problem might be that buyers do what they do on other sites.

I think you need to go to :
    ** My eBid
    **** My Defaults
    ********My General Defaults
Scroll down to "Require Immediate Payment"

I think you have misunderstood the problem which I am describing. I think this is also true for Purplestevie.
The Requires Immediate Payment setting is exactly what we do NOT want. In the latest occurrence for me I had a buyer who bought an item and paid for it. Then bought another item and paid for it. Then bought another item and paid for it. This resulted in him paying three postage charges and me paying three Paypal charges. I have a Multi Item Checkout established which would automatically combine postage charges if he had paid for the three items together. Now I have to refund the two unnecessary postage charges and incur further Paypal charges for doing so.
What I (and I believe Purplestevie) want is a way of stopping this happening. Requiring Immediate payment encourages this practice which I why I have opted out of it.
I think the answer is going to be to refer the problem to eBid Support.

    Oh I am sorry.
    I didn't type more.
Where it says " Require Immediate Payment" . . . . Click on No.

I am not sure if this will solve the problem then.

No. It definitely does not solve the problem. I have had my defaults set as you suggest ever since eBid introduced the require immediate payment option. I'm not sure that this problem occurred before this introduction.
