It's been a while since I looked at Skrill fees. I had an account for a time and only had one buyer pay with Skrill. Then, when I looked at the account again, there was no money in it. I never did take anything out of it. So I closed it out. Seems to me that fees for Canada were quite high, but I've been known to be mistaken now and again.

I thought they were a serious alternative to Paypal. Unfortunately, they messed up about a year ago with their "partnership" charges relating to another website and now this. I decided to close my account then and I'm glad I did.

Love or hate Paypal, but at least you know where you stand!

I believe their fees are the same for any country. Which were very reasonable once upon a time. But they were taking over by "someone" and were renamed Skrill from Moneybookers. Since then it's been downhill.

Unless you have 100's coming into the account every single month, it is a liability rather than an additional payment option.

Checking on the Skrill website, it would appear that the new charges do not apply to a non-business account. Then the only charges are €1.00 per month if you have had no transactions in the past 12 months.

So its simple, Just move a couple of quid in or out the Skill account once a year and its free apart from transaction charges.

In that case, I'm OK - it's a private account with a few transactions over past year.
