Default The best way to aution items

Hello. I am new to ebid (another refugee from ebay) and I listed my 1st item yesterday but I am unsure the best way to price the items. Is it best to leave the bidding price very low and then put in a reserve price and a Buy It Now price or is it better to put in the price you want for the item as the bidding price and not put anything in the reserve price.
Here is a link to the item - http://ie.ebid.net/for-sale/50510474...t-64422081.htm if anyone can give me some advise i would be truely grateful as i have a lot of items to list and I want to get it right.
    Thank you

    Hi and welcome to eBid.

To answer your questions, it's best to start items at the lowest price you'd be willing to accept for them, as unlike on some other sites, there aren't a lot of bidding wars here, as yet, with the exception of YDC charity auction items. Reserves turn me off as a buyer, though I expect there are others who aren't bothered by them; personally, I'd rather see the seller's price upfront to know whether or not it's something I can afford before bidding, but this is just my opinion. Items with Buy It Now prices are uploaded to Google shopping, while those without BINs aren't, so you may want to use a starting bid price as well as a BIN price to maximize exposure.

    Hope this is some help.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Thanks suesjools for your reply. You seem to be very knowledgable about a lot of things (I have read some of your posts on other threads) so I was just wondering if you could just take a quick look at the the item i have listed and let me know what you think good or bad and if you think i need to make any changes. I would be most grateful. Kind regards. Debbie

Hi Debbie and thanks, though you obviously haven't read all my posts, LOL.

Per your listing, it looks good to me, though you might want to add length/width/waistband measurements, as all size 14s (or 6s or 20s) aren't created equally, as we ladies know too well. Oh and material content and machine washability (or not, as the case may be) would be helpful, too.

Best wishes for many sales to all,

Your way may work for some

When I see 'reserve not met' I do not bid and will not ever look at your other items
    My clutter

I don't play the reserve game

Hi Debbie, a very warm welcome to eBid.
I have to agree with suesjools and terry5732 - I don't think setting a reserve price is a good idea.
It does turn away a potential buyer if they think they have to keep upping the bids until the reserve is met.
We don't get very many bidding wars here, so why not list your lovely items for sale at a starting price that you would be happy to accept?
If you did get another few bids that would be just super!
I think you should lose the background fill-in on your item descriptions, and also fill in your 'about me' page, with a few details about yourself and your T&C's.
Add a signature link to your forum posts so members can click on it to view your items.

Read the help section and Astral's FAQs for newbies - lots of very good info. for new members.

Good Luck with your sales, hope you do well!

    Hi Debbie, welcome to eBid.

One of my favorite colors is pink but......

I can't stand it as a font color or background font color, even worse, dark pink on light pink strips, on white background, it hurts my eyes to try to read it, so I don't read it and move on. Consider using plain old black font on white background.
