If you know of faults, buttons, please point them out. You may be fed up now, but they could bug you later and it'll be a lot more hassle to get things put right later

WOW!! Lots to catch up on! The weather here has been like spring 60 - 70 degrees! I've been spending lots of time outside and over in the old house doing "spring cleaning" My poor flowers are SO confused! We've only had one short cold spell to give them any rest and they are sending up shoots like crazy, wanting to stay "in tune" with the weather. Plans postponed for today due to heavy rain but that gives me a chance to get caught up and being more than a little sore from going full throttle, I'm glad for a day of rest.

POS - so sorry to hear about your reaction to the new socks. Hope you are all healed up now!! Did you wash them first? I never gave a second thought to opening a new package of socks and putting them straight on, but I think I will now!!

TRISH - so glad you have little Ilsa to "make nanna better" - that is so sweet!! I DO love a good party - WHEN it fits into my routine! LOL!! I've been hearing about your bad weather Almost feel guilty for enjoying my weather so much - ALMOST.....

Was thinking about you the other day - had about 2 dozen apples that needed to be used up, so I made a huge pan of Apple Crisp Didn't think to take a picture so I could share, sorry

Sorry too, to say the "honeymoon" is over - he started working on elevators again up in Nashville. Only 90 miles, as the crow flies, but can be a 3 hour trip each way depending on traffic, as we have mostly 2 lane roads here. So, he is gone a lot Monday thru Friday and heads straight to sleep when he gets home. But, there are the weekends He says he wants to keep working that job for the next 4-5 years - yea, right!!!

With all the company you have been having, have you considered one of those revolving front doors??

OLD - glad to hear you are staying cool and hydrated Sounds like things are heating up down under - I'd be content with living in a place that stayed about 70 year round. I DO hope that your new neighbors are nice too - I've had some that were not nice and that's not fun. I made a "tuna bake" (casserole) the other day but used peas instead of corn.

"Men Are Just Happier People" was pretty much the truth except I have been known to stare at a man's naked chest when talking to him

Looks like I missed out on a lot of good meals here!!

BUTTONS - yes, having a freezer is wonderful for freezing leftovers and making large batches for "quick fix" meals. I used to do that all the time but now days there are no leftovers and "large batches" never make it to the freezer. I've never seen a man who can eat so much food!! LOL!! I hope you get your shower project signed off - I'd hate having strangers traipse through my house and mucking things up!

WYO - glad to hear you are well and not snowed in!! I think that last ugly storm stayed pretty much south of you, did it? The snow we got stayed for 3 days and that was 2 days too long for me!

Well, here it is raining again and I've got to go to the neighbor's to puree some chili that was made for him. ALS leaves the brain intact but affects every muscle in the body. Eating has become very difficult for him, as you need muscles to help you swallow food. Not to mention his fingers have curled up so bad he can't hold a spoon or fork. I either feed him or puree regular food so he can drink it through a straw. Finally got a letter saying he has been approved for some in home help.....just as soon as they assign him a case worker and who knows how long that will take!! He keeps hinting that he would like for me to be his paid caregiver when all is approved but I'm just not up to taking care of 2 households along with all else I do.

Y'all take care!! I'll be back when I can, but even when I go MIA, know that I'm thinking about you and wishing you all well!!

    Shes

Home again, home again jiggity jig! Boy is it nice to have a hair cut. Trish, I have had the same hairdresser for over 10 years now. It was kind of funny, I was complaining at bowling about my hairdressers disappearing all the time and a team mate said "come to me, I ain't going anywhere. She's been taking care of me ever since! She is semi-retired, so I have to watch my days - Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Sometimes Friday morning, but she owns the shop, We agree on just how my hair should be cut and styled. It is baby fine and thinning (Ugh!).

The battery in my car died last week and I have a replacement, but am now waiting for the installer to come by. I tried to make him feel sorry for me, saying "I guess I'll just have to drive my truck until you have time." It didn't work. Since he helped me get my truck, he knows it's not a banged up old farm truck. I used to have a poem about farm trucks, I'll have to see if I can find it. Old might get a kick out of it.

Got groceries also so we are set for another month. I bought a roast and got the butcher to cut it in half. Should be tasty in my slow cooker someday(s). I decided to brown the ground beef before I froze it to improve on prep time, so I have that to do today.

The sun is shining and it is 45F - 7C. There were 4 grey kittens in the yard this morning when Missy On went out and 3 scattered. One just sat where it was and I don't think she even saw it. I wonder if her eye sight is not what it used to be. Onika does not like cats. She chases them off if she sees them. I kind of wish I could have one, but that's life.

Just popping in before I settle down to eat my dinner, lovingly prepared by JR (bless him!) and was ready to eat at 6.00pm!
It's a dinner made up from the leftover pork roast meat on Sunday with some fresh veg, and I don't fancy it at all, hence the delay. Not very fond of pork, tastes like pig!
I know that I must eat something so I will give it a go.
Got to be up around 6.40am to be ready for the little ones arriving around 7.00am.

Wyo, you are lucky to have a hairdresser that knows how you like your hair cut/styled. Trouble with me is I have naturally curly/wavy hair and when it's cut it shrinks up an inch or so.
Shes, I have to go now as I'm flagging but I will try and pop in tomorrow if I can get the little ones to have a wee siesta!

    G'day all

Mother Hubbard's cupboard is bare, so I'm off shopping today!
I actually had to get under the covers last night, as we have had a cool change come through (thankfully) It will only be 30c today & the low 30's for the rest of the week Had 21mm of rain in my tanks Fri/Sat which helped cool things down also!

All the little ankle-biters go back to school today after their Chrissy hols - Yea!!! - This means we drivers, have to again be careful passing school zones, as 40 klm speed limits are again applied, & the police are targeting offenders. The minimum penalty is $162.00 & one demerit point off ones license.

Hope everyone is cool or warm, as the case may be!

How many demerit points before they take your license off you?

    Open licence holders
If you hold a Queensland open licence you may receive a warning letter when you gain at least 7 demerit points in a 3 year period.
If 12 or more demerit points are recorded against your traffic history in a 3 year period, you will be sent an 'Accumulation of Demerit Points – Notice to Choose'.
The 'Accumulation of Demerit Points – Notice to Choose' will advise you to choose between: having your open licence suspended for a requisite period or agreeing to continue driving under a period of good behaviour for 1 year.
You may notify the department of your choice by either:
using the department's online service Notify Demerit Point Enforcement Choice
or present the Notification of Driver Licence Enforcement Option – in Person Nomination (form F4012) at a Department of Transport and Main Roads customer service centre, authorised Queensland Government Agent Program office, or a licence-issuing police station.
If you choose to continue driving under a period of good driving behaviour for 1 year, you may keep your current licence provided that you do not accumulate more than 1 demerit point during the 1 year period.
If you accumulate 2 or more demerit points during this period, your licence will be suspended for double the requisite suspension period that would have applied had you taken the licence suspension in the first place.
What is the requisite period of suspension for an open licence?

    Blah de blah blah blah!
The requisite period of suspension for an open licence is calculated as follows.
If you accumulate: at least 12 but not more than 15 demerit points – 3 months at least 16 but not more than 19 demerit points – 4 months 20 or more demerit points – 5 months.

    Morning all!!

Although yesterday was a bit chilly, we've had average 60 degree weather for quite a few days and I'm getting lots done outside and in the old house. Today and tomorrow will be nice, then it will get a wee bit too chilly for me to do much except feed the critters. We've had quite a bit of rain but no hard "down pours" that cause flooding. Feeling sad for those farther south that have been going through the tornadoes - been there, done that

WYO - "Home again, home again jiggity jig!" I haven't heard that in ages!!! Glad you have a good hairdresser and that you are both in agreement with your hair style. When my hair starts getting tucked into my pants along with my shirt, it's time for a cut for me. Shouldn't be anything hard about trimming straight across the bottom but every hairdresser I've been to has mucked the job up and I end up having to fix it myself. Finally went to a barber - he's great - knows how to cut in a straight line!! Did you get your battery put in?? How old is Miss Onika? Even if she is old enough to be having vision problems, she still should have smelled the kitty so maybe it was okay with her that one stayed and you might have a cat!

TRISH - Pork tastes like pig????? No wonder I don't care much for it - lol!!!! Hope you are getting some rest so you can enjoy your time with the little ones - the do grow up so fast!!

OLD - hope you are enjoying a full Mother Hubbard Cupboard!! What are you cooking for us all??

Well, it's still 20 degrees shy of 60 - hope it warms up soon so I can get out to work!!

    Y'all have a great day!!

    Shes

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YK-KizDipAM

So - if any Aussies are missing from work - that is why (most likely)

A national public holiday, & the only day of the year when you'll ever see any display of patriotic fervour!

We either go bush or beach for a barbyQ - prawns & snags & heaps of beer or Bundy (my choice) We'll all worry about the head & stomach aches tomorrow!
