Thread: Legal items are not being sent to Google Shopping because of Keywords

  1. #1

Default Legal items are not being sent to Google Shopping because of Keywords

A couple of months ago, this was announced in eBid's website fixes:

UPDATE - Added phrases that can be uploaded to Google Shopping even when containing banned keywords eg. "sex in the city" will be uploaded from now on

I realized that collectible knives are prohibited here, but magazines for collectors are allowed. Can you make this same change for the words "Knives", "Knife", "Blades" and "Blade"? Our vintage collector magazines (such as "Knives Illustrated") as well as collectible catalogs containing these words, are NOT being uploaded to Google Shopping.

It isn't Google that's doing this, it's eBid. Because Knives are banned from this site, they do not forward anything with these words to Google Product Search. These old collector's magazines and catalogs are legal, but their titles contain words such as "knives", "knife", and "blade" so eBid bypasses them.

They made a fix a while back so items such as a "Sex in the City" DVD are now being allowed through even though the word "sex" is in the title. I'm asking for the same correction for my magazines.

My comment was directed to G&M so they can see that there is no reason to censor these words

One of our items due for relisting is a vintage catalog for knife collectors, in Very Fine condition, collectible and hard to find. It's not listed on Google Shopping, which may be why it hasn't sold. It has the forbidden word "Knives" in the title.

Since a "Sex in the City" DVD can now be forwarded in spite of the word (gasp!) "sex", why can't catalogs and magazines with the words "knife", "knives", and "blade" in the title have the same treatment?

When are these pesky people that want to sell totally legal items going to go away?
