Thread: New to eBid--VINTAGE AUTO PARTS

Question New to eBid--VINTAGE AUTO PARTS

Hello--I just found out about eBid yesterday after reviewing eBay's new fee structure for sellers. We deal in vintage auto parts from the 1920's-1970's cars and trucks. The new fee structure, charging fees for shipping is astronomical because alot of what we sell is large body parts that dont fit in a shoe box. I have a few questions in regards to eBid such as Search Engine Optimazation? Will people from other countries overseas be able to search out our items (we sell alot in Europe, Australia,ect...) We also just opened our own webstore and can we link these auctions to it? I am sure I will have alot of other questions as I learn more about eBid so any advise will be greatly appreciated---Thanks!

Hi I am listing here because like you we sell classic car and truck parts and 25% of our parts ship overseas. Fee-Bay sure took the wind out of our "sales"! lol We have a web site and after I populate our stores on e-bid I will direct link them in our website navigation. You can not link to your website from eBid. Google will post your Buy it Now items in their shopping category for all to see. Another tip for SEO, name your stores wisely. SEO is based on views of your page and page content. So by selling things in your store over time they will rise in the shopping results. Be sure to mention the title of your item in the description at least once. Auctions on eBid will give you better "billing" in their search results, as the good until sold auctions are shown on the bottom of the search results. If you mark that you ship to other countries your listing will show up in their countries eBid searches. I hope that other sellers will move to eBid and give it time to develop. If we want an alternative we have to commit time to make it happen.

    Prosperous Selling!

Welcome!! Click on the help tab top right of this page and review all the info that is listed there, exp the listing and selling....gives all the do's and don'ts. Look at all the forum threads, especially Astral's and bykimbos (and others) for tips on setting up. Plug your auctions with one plug up to 1 x per 24 hours.

Do your about me page, put a signature link in (like you see my stores below...so people can just click there and be taken to the store). Particiapting in the forums helps. Read about what it takes to get your items up on google.

As ND said, no links to other websites, no naming your other website, no contact info........etc......best wishes!!!
    Ta-Ta for now!

Hi, just posted a few things on here.
My question is how do you put a beginning price on an item?
All of mine only let me put a buy it now price.
    What am I doing wrong?

I wouldn't worry, just put a buy it now price, list for ten ot more days repeated three or four times.
I've found actual auctions are just a waste of time,Buy it now works best.
I'm slowly moving my stock of tools and other items into the classic car tools section. At the moment the classic car sections are a bit sparse.

An auction item cannot be RunTilSold.

To be able to put in a bid price you need to make sure an auction duration is set, ie 3 days, 10 days, 14 days,
(I certainly wouldn't run an auction for more than 14 days),you can set up to 10 automatic reposts, or you could use OnFirstBid, (but that does put you at the bottom of eBid search).
You also need to make sure the Fixed Price Only box isn't ticked.
