Default Britains Ancient Pagan Ritual Site - Tigh na Cailleach Under Threat.

Many of you (hopefully) will be familiar with Tigh na Cailleach or Tigh nam Bodach in Gleann Cailliche near Glenlyon, said to be the site of the "oldest uninterrupted pagan ritual in Britain". A planning application for a hydro-electric scheme in Gleann Cailliche has been submitted.

More details can be found on the Glen Lyon History Society's website:
"Planning permission was recently lodged for four hydro electric schemes that will forever transform the Gleann Cailliche and the surrounding landscape. Existing tracks will be upgraded to take heavy traffic. Power houses will be constructed, borrow pits dug and fresh tracks will be carved into the steeply sided slopes to weirs. An overhead power line will be run past the Tigh nam Bodach and down the side of Loch Lyon."

This place is a Sacred, Ancient Valley that has evaded any disturbance from humans. It should be left to remain so.
We have until 17th March to oppose the planning that will destroy this site and landscape forever. Please inform all the Pagans that you know and hopefully this distruction can be prevented.

    Thanks for your time.

Unless there is something which prevents Pagans from performing their rituals somewhere else, then it is simply a valley which is now needed to provide for the needs of the many. Pagans are as unlikely as anyone else to wish to live without electricity and all the benefits of the modern world which go along with having it, so sometimes sacrifices have to be made. The number of places in the UK which are suitable for hydro electric plants is very small indeed. I suspect that the number of suitable places for Pagan worship is huge.
