The Sufi mystics have a wonderful teaching story about the Tarot. They claim to have invented the cards hundreds of years ago. Finding the power in
the deck far too dangerous they purposefully removed and destroyed a number of key cards ( these have never been replaced or found ). Sufis now look at those that practice the Tarot as people who are not playing with a 'full deck'.
