eBid does not 'do' listing variations, so even if you could upload them it could do nothing with them. The eBid design is that variations (e.g. colour, size, etc.) are listed separately.

Is there any way to stop Ninja Lister bloody well crashing?!

I'm getting sick of it now! It did it the day before yesterday, but luckily I only lost about four auctions. I've just gone to back up now and it's damn well crashed yet again taking over fifty auctions with it! I can't even begin to write how furious I am without resorting to f'ing and blinding!

Say what you like about eBay, at least TurboLister doesn't crash when you've got more than one auction on it!

    Hi,

I am a newbie slowly perhaps leaving ebay - and my first attempt at NL failed. I tried twice and both times it told me my userid and password did not match. I am pretty sure they are the same in both but I cannot tell for certain. Is there something I may be doing wrong? Should I change my ebid and NL passwords? Thanks Greg

If you have successfully logged into eBid then you know your username and password. Just open NL, go to File > Edit Settings, and enter the same there (observing the same letter case). Also ensure your account type is set to Seller+.

Thank you. I re-entered the information again and that problem cleared up but, I had 13 items to add, all created the same way. The first got added, the other 12 rejected with the following msg:
The photo file:///C:/Documents and Settings/All Users/eBay/Turbo Lister2/Data/user000/58/3858_0.jpg was not sent to eBid from Ninja Lister with your auction data. Please ensure the photo is showing OK within the auction details for this item within Ninja Lister.
I checked and I can see the images in all my ebid good to go listings. Thanks again

    Greg

What criteria does Ninja use to update an auction?

I have been a bit naive and did not really think about it. I have imported data from our database into a ninja auction set, then uploaded to Ebid to create new auctions. Works a treat

Now I want to edit those auctions (change prices,, titles, descriptions, quantity etc) So I exported again from the database - into a new auction set. Change them to overwrite and uploaded. Received a message saying all went OK, but nothing has changed

So now I am thinking how does Ninja know what to update?

It goes by the title. So, if you edit the title then no matching listing will be found and no change will be made. A new listing will not be created under the new title when 'Overwrite' is used.

A recent post by admin that auction ids are being exported may mean a change afoot to using auction ids to identify a listing (that's pure guesswork though).

Thanks Mel, that will be why it was not working, as I have changed a lot of titles

No worries, I can end the auctions then re-list every time rather than overwrite

Using the ID would be good (that's how turbolister works)

There is add/overwrite. This is not really intended for what you are wanting to do though and may cause you more housekeeping than simply closing and reposting.

Don't forget that closing and reposting any listing that has up-front fees (e.g. Featured) will cause the fee to be charged again if the option is still set on re-post.
