Thread: Les Paul death, father of modern music

Cool Les Paul death, father of modern music

Les Paul died this week in US, you may think you do not know him but you do know his legacy: bass guitar, solid body electric guitar, multiple tracks. etc. He was an influence on many modern musicians. Fantastic inventor, and musician.

He was in his 90s and still playing. Even had a Gibson guitar named after him!

Was a Wisconsin boy born and bred whose influence went way beyond Wisconsin.

An update, Les Paul was buried in his native Waukesa Wisconsin on Friday in Prairie Home Cemetery. A service was also held in Milwaukee on Thursday as well.

If you read the Little House on the Prarie books,Laura Ingalls Wilder, Waukesha was the place where Ma Ingalls was born in the 1830s. Silver Lake is in Waukeska as well, one of the titles in the series too.

Wisconsin and Minnesota have more in common than bad weather. Lots of famous, creative, and intelligent people came from both states, but they move away and then do their thing. Les Paul was a perfect example. He was not only a great musician, he was an inventive genius.

Yes, can't think of anyone today with his vision! Did really well for a small town boy who liked to invent things.
