I think a whole new top level category for Completed Craft Items or Craftsman made items would be the answer.

If we present Da Boyz with an actual category perhaps we might have more luck
Cross–stitch needs its own category and sub-categories.
Keeping it as simple as possible, eg
CROSS-STITCH
- Kits
- Charts
- Completed
- Cards
- Accessories
- Other (of course!!!)
With the above we could then subdivide in our own shops in our own way.
-Kits could be described as counted or stamped, threads sorted, unsorted.
-Accessories could be subdivided by us to include Threads, Aida, Needles, Frames.
I personally feel that all books and magazines should remain under books and magazines – every other category has to abide by this rule.
So, just a starting point – what do you all think?
Remember – simple please
.

I really do disagree with that, Linda. The buyers of kits etc are completely distinct from the buyers of completed items. Burying completed items in amongst the materials crafters need is a mistake.

I haven't posted to this one before - but agree that cross stitch "other" is a cpmplete muddle - there are fabrics, threads, finished items, hoops, charts, kits and scissors (not to mention the hundreds and hundreds of listings with no gallery picture which spoil any category!). It is the only place I could find to put some cross stitch/embroidery beads but I'm not happy about doing so. It definitely needs dividing!
I may now spend a few minutes reporting the kits and charts - as they do have their own categories and are in the wrong place but even if action is taken it won't really make the category much easier to use - as a seller or a buyer.
I too am waiting for X-stitch to have a completed section. been waiting since i joined last year. i've listed a number of items but still not a single nibble never mind a bite. i know some of my pieces are not cheap, but neither is material or labour.
i'm wondering if getting rid of paypal as a payment option so i can drop the mailing rates to just plain lettermail. i can't and will not risk mailing lettermail with paypal, i've been stung by (supposidly) never received items and hit with chargebacks from paypal.
Gazza - you asked about people's thoughts on Page 2 of this thread. There have been many responses but we are now on page 9 and nothing has happened.
Hi - sorry system crashed after I posted -
Was just trying to start with a basic list so that people could do their own version until we got it right rather than just saying I would like this or I don't like that... - just don't think Da Boyz are cross-stitchers somehow - but I may be wrong
I have no feelings one way or another and there is no right or wrong - so what would be ideal?

In the past we have managed to persuade them to introduce category changes utilising our specialist knowledge.. Fat Quarter categories for quilting came in that way.
I agree that the cross stitch section needs to be altered. I liked everything about your suggestion, Linda, except the placing of a category for completed items within the crafts section.
The Crafts section is for crafters not those who buy completed items. I suggest that it is unlikely that those who want to buy completed items will look there
