Unless you lived in Germany at that time, they wouldn't mean a thing to you

Hooray - glad someone does!! Was beginning to feel older than Methuselah!! I suppose as we didn't have a TV until I was a teenager the radio was important in my house! I'm sure I could sing along to most of the songs on that list!

It's strange, but I know most of those songs and believe me, they weren't hits in Germany!! So am I ancient or what?

I remember it with great fondness. We also listened to the radio, a lage ECHO that sat in the corner of the living room weel before the telly arrived to take its place. Dad put the radio out in the shed then and I used to listen to it out there when off school at weekends. It was a valve driven job, wooden case and impressive knobs & dials.

First record I bought myself was Andy Stewart - A Scotish Soldier.

I have a great doudle CD I picked up a while ago in a sale called "Childhood days" that has loads of the old Children's Favourite songs on it.

    Happy days
