I have oodles of 70s and 80s vinyl albums that I am finally getting around to clearing out. I am thinking of listing some of them on here, but how do you get around the packaging side of things with the vinyl being so fragile
thanks Dawn

Vinyl needs to packed by cardbord to keep it stiff, cheap way is to cut up some cardboard boxes to size and send in a waterproof plastic mailer.
Or buy some record mailers but these may need a stiffner card in them and they are not cheap.
I use carboard boxes You can get from Supermarkets a template made about 7.5 x 7.5 then away you go normally cardboard either side of record,in a mailing sack if its an extra special record I would use more card either side of it, dont bother with card board mailers and backing board just eats in to your profit , make sure you cut your card up as neatly as possible to make it look better.
Not had a breakage as of yet
I'm with Huddy on this one. Lots of perfectly good strong cardboard from supermarkets. I have sent hundreds of singles and LPs this way. Never bought a mailer for over 5 years. And like Huddy not had any problems.
Cheers Mel
ok, everyone, appreciate the tips. It appears using cardboard cut outs works fine, so i will give it a go.
I cut down boxes for LPs, but have quite a few proper mailing boxes for various quantities of 45 rpm singles - (due to my addiction of the last couple of years .)
