Default Jaguar 'Leaping Cat' car mascot

Have listed an old Jaguar car mascot...If anyone needs one to replace one that has been stolen off their old car this is perfect...
Also makes a great display piece when mounted to an old radiator cap or block of wood

That's one of the new ones, I've just made a plinth and refurbished one of the old ones for someone, it came off her dad's old Jaguar.

There's one on the other side with bids of £225 reserve not met, at the moment. Probably overpriced as they are not that rare.

Obviously one for me. Yours is probably from a 1960s Mark 2, which had the smaller (5 inch) one. Ken's is the original Desmo one which dates from the mid 1930s when the cars were still called SS (they changed the name to Jaguar after the war for obvious reasons. William Lyons the founder of Jaguar didn't like it so commissioned leading artist Gordon Crosby to design the definitive leaper. The original ones were 7 inches long and mounted on the radiator cap. Mine, which sits on my computer desk and has lent me its name, came from a 1946 model, but unfortunately became a Manx cat at some stage in its career :

Is that a new Jag? Not sure what the law is, it may affect safety (in case you hit something, the mascot may end up flying through a windscreen or someone's head at 100 mph - nasty).
On old cars where they actually have a proper radiator cap, ordinary caps can be used when the car is unattended.
